For the first time in over a year, Disneyland has opened to guests, and a few friends from the Hundred Acre Wood and Wonderland decided to say hello! Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, and Tigger made a surprise appearance near “it’s a small world” in Fantasyland, followed by some more familiar characters. Naturally, they were physically distanced from the public as part of the park’s COVID-19 safety protocols.
Pooh had fun interacting with the crowd, even taking a small bow at one point.
Even Eeyore looked happy to see guests again as he shuffle-danced for everyone.
And then, of course, Tigger brought his unique energy to the character greeting.
And in true Hundred Acre Wood fashion, a rainbow appeared to compliment him.
The characters alternate with Alice, who makes a solo appearance in the same spot.
We spotted her carrying a paintbrush, suggesting that she’s painting the roses red, as per the Queen of Hearts’ wishes. (Not to be critical, but didn’t she just have a whole year to do that?)
Still, she was very happy to see guests, even if she couldn’t get up close and personal as she stood behind a fenced area.
Mary Poppins and Bert also floated in for a visit! The dapper duo were quite chipper as they greeted guests.
You can watch video of the character interactions below!
These are just some of the many surprise character appearances that can be found around the park. We’ve also spotted Mickey Mouse greeting guests in Mickey’s Toontown, and you can be rest assured we’ll keep our eyes peeled for even more special friends!
