Virtual Queue Being Tested For Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland

A little over a week since the park reopened, Disneyland will begin testing a virtual queue for Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye starting Tuesday, May 11th.

According to The OC Register, the virtual queue will work similarly to the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance virtual queue, accessible through the Disneyland app. The virtual queue will only be used during some park hours, though, and is not expected to be available prior to or at park opening.

The virtual queue will be used intermittently, alternating between a normal standby queue and the virtual system as demand dictates. Guests will be required to be inside the park to join the virtual queue, and guests with Park Hopper tickets who begin their day at Disney California Adventure must hop to Disneyland Park before they can join the Indiana Jones Adventure virtual queue.

Like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, guests will only be able to join the virtual queue once per day. Guests may join both the Rise of the Resistance and Indiana Jones Adventure queues, though.

Since reopening on April 30, Indiana Jones Adventure has been seeing a lot of foot traffic and that has created a few pinch points inside the queue. In an attempt to alleviate this issue, Disneyland has been using the upstairs Jungle Cruise queue as an overflow line for Indiana Jones Adventure. Of course, Jungle Cruise remains closed as it undergoes a makeover to make the ride more culturally sensitive.

Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye will be the first attraction other than Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance to utilize a virtual queue since the feature was added last summer.

  1. I’m so upset to hear this! 😩 The virtual queue system is riddled with flaws that have yet to be ironed out. I hate this trend we’re seeing of increased reliance on the Disneyland app. It would be one thing if the app ran smoothly, but in my experience with all of this new virtual queue and dining reservations stuff on the app it always creates more problems and pains in the butt. I’m pretty tech savvy, it’s not that I don’t know how to use the app, it’s just that the app is almost never functioning properly! This creates more problems than it solves 100%. If Disney is going to force us to do everything virtually, they need to get their system figured out!
