Avengers, it’s finally time to assemble. Avengers Campus officially opened at Disney California Adventure on June 4th, 2021. We spent opening day exploring the new land, taking a ride on WEB SLINGERS A Spider-Man Adventure with new WEB Tech add-ons, visiting with characters, watching live entertainment, and of course, trying all the food. Join us on our first trip to Avengers Campus!
Since the land has limited capacity with a standby wait to enter, we played it safe and arrived at Disneyland Resort around 5am. We waited at the Harbor Pedestrian Entrance; this is the best option if you want to secure access into Avengers Campus in the morning.
By 7:45am, guests were making their way towards Disney California Adventure.
Once we entered, we picked up our new commemorative map and ticket. Our ticket featured Captain Marvel flying over Avengers Campus.
For more details on the commemorative map, click here.
The entrance to the WEB SLINGERS virtual queue is the Bountiful Valley Winery, don’t worry, you can buy your ride add-ons just steps away.
Guests are guided through a queue which goes all the way down the parade route in Disney California Adventure.
Here we go!
To all who come to this happy place, welcome…
Cast Members greeted us into the land.
A plaque at the entrance to WEB Suppliers explains the land’s backstory.
While were here, let’s take a look. This store was utilizing a virtual queue throughout the whole day.
Watch our walkthrough of WEB Suppliers here.
Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock welcomed guests into Avengers Campus for the first time.
There is a Legacy Passholder PhotoPass opportunity near the entrance into the land from Cars Land.
Across from the photo op, you can see the original S.H.I.E.L.D. logo and a yellow crane which once had a home in Bugs Land.
WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure
Worldwide Engineering Brigade (WEB) is now hosting an open house in Avengers Campus, so we can finally join Spider-Man for an amazing adventure. WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure is the brand-new flagship ride for Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure, and its finally our turn.
We were lucky enough to snag group 14 at the 7am boarding group distribution on the Disneyland app. There is a second distribution at noon. A boarding group for this attraction will allow you access into the land without waiting in the standby line.
Watch our POV walkthrough and ride on WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, then keep reading for photos and more details. Our video includes us using the infamous WEB Tech “add-ons” that are sold in Avengers Campus as well.
Personally, I thought the preshow room probably carried the most kinetic energy. Spider-Bots running through vents, Tom Holland guiding us on how to save Avengers Campus, and a few good effects. Sadly, I don’t think this energy shifted onto the actual attraction. With basically no practical sets, no Audio-Animatronics, and no unique ride system, it felt mundane. I didn’t get off this ride, wondering when I’ll be able to get back on the next time. I know Disney is capable of making memorable attractions as it was just done at Disneyland last year with Rise of the Resistance. I don’t think this attraction is the highlight of Avengers Campus. Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is right across the campus, was a walk-on all day, and significantly more entertaining and immersive.
You can use WEB Tech add-ons to try for a higher score and different “blasts” on this interactive attraction. That being said, they are heavy and we didn’t feel like they particularly enhanced the ride.
We slung enough webs for the day, back to the campus.
The new WEB graffiti wall be found outside the WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure building.
Character Meet & Greets
Assembled superheroes are taking time from their busy days to stop and chat with guests. Take a look at all the heroes we ran into here.
At almost all times, there is a character out somewhere. Black Widow and Loki seemed to be out the most.
Quite the crowd.
The elite royal guard of Wakanda is making an appearance in Avengers Campus in a small show. Three of the Dora Milaje, as seen in Black Panther and subsequent Marvel media, march through the land to present their skills and interact with the crowd. Watch the full show here. This was a great entertainment option in Avengers Campus and it was great to see performers interacting with guests again.
Next, the Avengers Stunt Show. It is performed on the side of the Avengers headquarters and debuted with Black Widow and Black Panther leading the action.
Even the Guardians of the Galaxy made a comeback with Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! returning.
Night has fallen on the Avengers Campus, and strange things are afoot at the Ancient Sanctum. Dr. Strange, to be precise. The Sorcerer Supreme stars in a show, and we caught photos and a full video to share with you.
This show is the most popular in the land. Only 13 groups can enter the sanctum per show and they run about once an hour. If this is a priority for you, make sure to check the line frequently. Guests gather by the door to get a peek in while the show is running.
Dining in Avengers Campus
We swung over to main restaurant in Avengers Campus, Pym Test Kitchen. This quick-service restaurant has “size-defying” meals inspired by Ant-Man and The Wasp. We tried both the breakfast and lunch menus from this location.
Mobile ordering times were gone entirely before 10am. I cannot emphasize enough to prioritize mobile ordering in the morning. It is now asked that guests only order in the land, but there’s a possibility they could all be taken by the time you even enter Avengers Campus. If you know trying the new food is important to you, I recommend waiting early in the morning to enter the land and make all your orders immediately after you enter. There are no standby lines for food.
Next door is the Pym Tasting Lab, where you can mobile order alcoholic beverages. A giant smartphone displays the menu.
There is lots of open space inside.
Sadly the belt that carries the pretzels through the restaurant was broken already, so we couldn’t see it in action.
Don’t miss the Bountiful Valley Farm (2001) ketchup in Pym Test Kitchen at Avengers Campus.
Nice to see Coca-Cola Freestyle machines at Disneyland Resort.
The outdoor seating was very limited and VERY busy.
First things first, breakfast.
We’ve worked up a Quantum-sized appetite running around Avengers Campus, so we tried everything from the lunch/dinner menu at Pym Test Kitchen.
The Choco-Smash CANDY Bar is fantastic and one of my favorites.
The Not so Little Chicken Sandwich would be the first sandwich I would recommend. Make sure to read our full review!
There had to be a souvenir somewhere… We tried the new Pingo Doce soda as well!
We decided to drop by Shawarma Palace for a lunch break.

This entire land is just people waiting around for mobile orders or boarding groups to be called, all while wearing a giant red hand with a soda bottle, and no one leaves because you can’t get back in.
After breakfast and drinks, we stopped by Terran Treats to try out the new offerings for us Earthlings. Taneleer Tivan (A.K.A. The Collector), has curated this menu which features two sweet items along with several different standard beverages to choose from.

Custodial cast in Avengers Campus wear Department of Damage Control costumes!
There is an Incredible Hulk tree that has been exposed to Gamma Radiation.
Avengers Campus at Night
The land comes to life at night.
The Quinjet can be seen into once dark.
Lights line the pavement.
Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! was at a 10 minute wait around 8:30pm.
The merchandise cart outside WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure remained popular through the night.
The Ancient Sanctum looked lovely at night. The lighting is very well done on this side of Avengers Campus.
A trapped Spider-Bot welcomes guests into the restrooms.
Guests grabbed their last few night pics!
I think this land comes to life at night, but out of every different themed area at Disneyland Resort, Avengers Campus is missing that magic. Walking into Galaxy’s Edge is an entirely different experience than walking into Avengers Campus; you feel something in Batuu. I’m sure the land will grow to be more charming as it gets settled into Disney California Adventure but opening day left me saying “eh” with no excitement to come back. We are under different circumstances, making the experience a little more challenging such as boarding groups, mobile ordering, and standby lines to enter the land. As time goes on, I hope to see Avengers Campus grow and become a unique experience in Disney California Adventure.
