Anthony Mackie Signs on for Fourth “Captain America” Film

“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” was just the beginning of Sam Wilson’s journey as Captain America, and it seems his next step will be on the big screen.

Deadline has reported that Anthony Mackie has officially signed on to star in a fourth Captain America film for Marvel Studios. This would be the first feature film with Wilson’s Cap as the lead, following three movies starring Chris Evans as Steve Rogers.

So far, details about the project have been kept under wraps, aside from that it will be written by “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”‘s creator and head writer Malcolm Spellman and staff writer Dalan Musson. It’s unclear whether Sebastian Stan will reprise his role as Bucky Barnes/the Winter Soldier for the film.

Fleming also reports that the movie is not the project rumored to be Evans’ return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after his final performance as Rogers in “Avengers: Endgame,” so it’s unlikely we’ll have two Captains onscreen together.

  1. But he has no superpowers except for a backpack with wings. I dont get why he is Captain America and not Bucky

  2. What they did with Falcon and Winter soldier just made me not want Falcon as Cap . Ruined it for me. Just tell a good story and leave out the bull! Was a big turn off.
