In late August, construction walls were erected in the esplanade near the Disney California Adventure entrance. They have now been removed.

The walls were up around the square of decorative tiles.

There is no obvious refurbishment or update to the tiling.

  1. The refurbishment was likely “roughing” up the tiles. They were previously very shiny and I personally saw a few people slip on them when they would be wet (from morning dew or after a rain). At one point, they were roughed up, but clearly very quickly. From your photos today, it looks like they’ve been more “professionally” roughed up with a nice matte finish that’s likely less slippery than the previous polished marble look.
