Today is a happy day for guests at Disneyland as long-time favorite restaurant Carnation Cafe reopened on Main Street, U.S.A.

Guests have been encouraged to book reservations online, with the restaurant now seemingly booked up through the month. However, walk-ups are accepted as availability allows.

We visited Carnation Cafe to take in some new breakfast items.

Breakfast Skillet – $16.00
Mickey-shaped 3-cheese egg bites, breakfast potatoes, chopped applewood-smoked bacon, sliced smoked sausage, and shredded cheese with a fresh tomato garnish

With the skillet, you get exactly what you expect. Potatoes, bacon, sausage, and the rest are all well done, but there’s nothing too exciting here (though we do love Mickey-shaped food).

The sausage is slightly spicy, which is a nice touch.

The Mickey-shaped Egg Bites were a pleasant surprise. Unlike some theme park egg dishes, these were fluffy and subtly cheesy, with a genuine “scrambled egg” texture.

The tomato garnish on top adds a fresh, light flavor to the eggs, which is a pleasant accompaniment to the heaviest, richest part of the dish.
Overall, it’s a good breakfast to start your day, hearty and energizing, so that you can take on the mountain range of Disneyland with vigor!
Plant-based Overnight Oats – $7.00
Seasonal fruit and banana

We didn’t enjoy the Overnight Oats much, but fans of soft oatmeal may.

The seasonal fruit is bananas, and Granny Smith apples dusted in cinnamon.

Overnight oats are often very soft and mushy, which we don’t prefer.

Overall, unless you’re really into oatmeal, there are so many other delicious options here that it would be a shame to waste your breakfast appetite on these. However, it is a good plant-based option for those who do enjoy overnight oats.
Between the two new items, we recommend trying the Breakfast Skillet to get you ready for your Disneyland day.
