Walt Disney World
Magic Kingdom
- Salutations from a very empty day at the Magic Kingdom! Join us around the park in the latest photo report.
- A new piece of decoration has been installed in front of the Main Street, U.S.A. train station for the park’s 50th anniversary.
- Though Disney Genie Service and Genie+ are not yet available, we’re now seeing our first sign of the FastPass+ replacement in Walt Disney World.
- With Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary just weeks away, the clock on Main Street, U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom has received a golden makeover ahead of the big day.
- The bronze Br’er Rabbit statue has been removed from the park’s Hub, where a number of Disney characters have been immortalized.
EPCOT
- Though previously thought to be opening on October 1, it has now been announced that Space 220 Restaurant in EPCOT will be opening September 20.
- There’s been a severe lack of vegetation viewing at EPCOT as one of the park’s longest-running attractions, Living with the Land, remains closed for the thirteenth consecutive day.
- The age of FastPass+ has ended, and the rollout of Lightning Lane signage has begun at EPCOT.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- After being completely unavailable for the past few weeks, holocrons are once again available at Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- The circle of Walt Disney World 50th anniversary banners is complete as the decorations have finally been installed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- Like many live shows, Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has not performed since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it’s now rumored that the experience will never return.
Disneyland Resort
- We had a busy day at both parks, stretching into the evening to see the new Hub light posts illuminated at night. So join us for a quick jaunt around both parks in this photo report.
- The Halloween season officially begins at Disneyland Resort tomorrow, September 3 and guests can try tons of new spooky-themed treats.
- The Magic Key Terrace at Disney California Adventure has a secret, off-menu cocktail called the Nutmeg, named after one of the feral cats that wander the resort and has an affinity for visiting the lounge.
Tokyo Disney Resort
- Several items themed to the iconic Attic Bride in the Haunted Mansion are coming this month and the latest addition to this line are two pieces of headwear.
- Amid many incredible themed pillows coming to Tokyo Disney Resort this year, from ones shaped like plates of waffles to Mickey Balloons, there may be no true equal to this absolute monster of a Mickey Churro-themed cushion.
Disney Cruise Line
- Disney Cruise Line has announced that the Disney Wonder will begin sailing again starting October 1, 2021.
- Disney Cruise Line has clarified their vaccination requirements to include all sailings regardless of destination.
New Merchandise
- The new Mary Blair “Alice in Wonderland” 70th Anniversary Collection includes clothing, travel mugs, and more; now a scented candle has joined the collection.
- A new Oogie Boogie Man sweatshirt has arrived at Disneyland Resort.
- This new set of “Hocus Pocus” glasses we found in Star Traders at Magic Kingdom will be perfect for some wicked brews this Halloween.
- The proprietor of Batuu’s Droid Depot shop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland, Mubo, has been hard at work programming new items for us travelers to enjoy.
- Get into the spooky spirit at Disneyland with new bags from Harveys, featuring Mickey and Minnie in their Halloween best.
- The Port Royal Curios and Curiosities shop in New Orleans Square at Disneyland is known for its nearly year-round spooky themed items and a new Jack Skellington sweatshirt has appeared.
- For those envious of guests in the Magic Kingdom getting their hands on this new crossbody bag from Loungefly, fear not. It has found its way to Disneyland!
- Even though the hit Disney+ series ended its first season in mid-July, new “Loki” merchandise continues to appear at Walt Disney World, including a new iPhone case and two new magnets.
Entertainment and Media
- “Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge – Last Call” is a virtual reality game coming to Oculus Quest on September 15, and a trailer is now available.
Disney+
- October is set to bring thrills and chills to Disney+ as the latest Marvel Studios show reaches its season finale, the world of LEGO Star Wars gets spooky, and more.
The Walt Disney Company
- There seems to be some turmoil within The Walt Disney Company, as several high-ranking executives are reportedly furious at ABC News President Kim Godwin over a possible sexual assault investigation.
