Previously, only the 2022 release goal had been announced. The window has now been narrowed to fall for the film’s debut on Disney+.

Amy Adams is returning in the lead role of Giselle, as well as producing. Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld are returning as producers. Adam Shankman (“Hairspray,” “The Wedding Planner”) is directing. Composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz are back to write new songs for the musical.

Also returning to the cast is Patrick Dempsey as Giselle’s husband, Robert Philip; James Marsden as Prince Edward; and Idina Menzel as Nancy Tremaine. Maya Rudolph will be playing Malvina, the film’s villain, and Kolton Stewart will be playing her son.

  1. My wife and I have been looking forward to this sequel for years. Amy Adams was so good in the original, and we just love that music.
