Marvel’s latest film, “Eternals,” opened Friday night. According to Variety, the film will take in $71 million during its opening weekend. The amount is slightly lower than projections, which were in the $75 – 80 million range.
However, “Eternals” still opened to the fourth largest weekend in the pandemic era. Only “Venom: Let There be Carnage” ($90 million), and Marvel’s own “Black Widow” ($80.3 million) and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” ($75.3 million) had better opening weekends.
“Eternals” has suffered from lackluster reviews and low Rotten Tomatoes ratings.
