The Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure officially begins on November 12. However, the food booths opened two days early. We already visited the Favorite Things Marketplace; now it’s time for the Making Spirits Bright Marketplace.

This isn’t enough for the prize and is just fine.

The filling has a simple sweet cinnamon sugar flavor. The crust is nothing to write home about as it’s a little chalky. This is a pass for us.

“Hot Cocoa” Marshmallow Macaron – $5.50

This isn’t a traditional macaron, but that’s okay. It has a soft, crunchy exterior that brings a light chocolate flavor.

The cream inside has a hot cocoa flavor. Combined, we do get that taste of melted marshmallows in a warm hot chocolate. This is sizable, delicious, and a must-have.

Maple Hazelnut Hot Buttered Rum – $15.00

Rum, maple syrup, and flavors of hazelnut, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove, topped with a house-made salted caramel whipped cream

This drink is perfection on a chilly night. The salted caramel whipped cream, and maple syrup cut the alcohol, making this as easy to drink as possible.

Don’t get us wrong — it’s still quite strong. But you won’t taste the rum through this perfect nectar-like mix.
