Splash Mountain at Disneyland Closing for Annual Refurbishment on January 10

Splash Mountain at Disneyland will be closing for refurbishment on January 10, 2022. A reopening date is not currently listed on the Disneyland calendar.

While Splash Mountain at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World will soon be rethemed to “The Princess and the Frog,” this closure seems to simply be for the standard annual refurbishment all water rides receive. In August, Magic Kingdom Vice President Melissa Valiquette said that the reimagining is still in development. Later that month, some details were released about the new attraction, but it seems likely it won’t come to fruition for a few more years.
