I remember a company I worked for doing something that looks like the overall Imagineering situation. The company would have a few people who hung on long enough to get paid well, but largely was disrespected after a while into wanting to quit. But, mostly. The company hired people straight out of high school to keep personnel costs as low as possible. When they were around too long, they were encouraged to leave.
