It was announced at Destination D23 that the West end businesses in Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort would close down in January 2022 to reimagine the area with new open space for various events. Now, we have closing dates for the three existing businesses that will have their locations closed for the construction.
The fan favorite counter service restaurant Earl of Sandwich will close on January 27. Boutique store Sugarboo & Co. will close on January 15 and the neighboring Starbucks location will close on January 29. At the time of the Instagram post, Starbucks was temporarily closed.
The Disneyland Monorail, which has a station at Downtown Disney near the edge of the construction area, will also be closing for a refurbishment on January 24 though it is unknown whether this closure is related to the Downtown Disney project or just more maintenance for the beleaguered attraction.
