Painting of Hills Ongoing at Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland

Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland will close for a reimagining on March 8, but we’re checking on the construction we can see until then. Hills recently returned to Toontown and are now being repainted.

The flat hills are on the Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway show building, covering the warehouse-like building.

Most of the flats have been painted with white primer.

There are also some steel supports that have yet to be covered.

Some sections of the hills are painted with shades of blue.

We saw a crew member in a cherry-picker working on the hills.

Another stretch of hills is a grey-ish color.

Eventually, all the new hills will match the grassy green ones that house the Toontown sign.

As for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, we’re seeing more additions to the El CapiTOON Theater façade.

It still mostly resembles scaffolding right now, but there will eventually be a tower and marquee for guests to walk under as they enter the “theater” for the attraction.
