President’s Day Crowds, Refurbishments, Festival Booths & More: Disneyland Resort Photo Report 2/21/22

Hey there, hi there, ho there! We headed down to the Disneyland Resort to check in on the many ongoing construction and refurbishment projects and we want you to come along. Join us as we hit both parks in a grand circle tour.

Disneyland

Disneyland Crowds

It sure was a crowded one today. President’s Day is a great time to get off work, but a rough time to get in line. We do hear, however, that Disneyland is the “Most Patriotic Place on Earth.”

Crystal Arcade Refurb

Refurbishment on the Crystal Arcade is ongoing, but the shop is still open inside. Let’s see what we can find.

Amethyst Minnie Ear Headband

These shiny new amethyst Minnie ears are perfectly purple.

Despite the crowds, we sure had a wonderful day at the park.

Tarzans Treehouse refurb Disneyland

Checking in on some refurbishment activity, Tarzan’s Treehouse is still covered in scaffolding and other than the crow’s nest being removed, there isn’t much to see that is different from last time we stopped by.

Toontown with Construction

Toontown, however, is making changes almost daily. The hills in the distance are rapidly being put in place, cemented, and painted with primer.

The massive show building will house Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which we recently learned will have some “enhancements” that the Florida iteration of the attraction doesn’t have.

While we’re in the area, we enjoyed a walk around the houses of Mickey’s Neighborhood. This will all close on March 8 to be reimagined and become more interactive.

In the Fantasyland Theatre, Celebrate Gospel has returned. With brightly colored backdrops and photo ops, this looks like a fun event before guests even reach their seats.

The theatre, which has been closed since the pandemic began, has had some refurbishments recently and removed much of the set decoration from “Mickey and the Magical Map,” which will not be returning.
