Damon Lindelof Reportedly Developing New ‘Star Wars’ Movie

Jeff Sneider of The Ankler reports that Damon Lindelof is developing a new “Star Wars” film.

Lindelof is most well-known as one of the creators and showrunners for “Lost,” as well as “The Leftovers,” and “Watchmen.” He co-wrote “Star Trek Into Darkness” and Disney’s “Tomorrowland.”

He has previously expressed interest in working on a “Star Wars” film. In 2020, he said, “At some point, but certainly not in the immediate future. I feel like I would love to do something in the Star Wars universe. Maybe a decade from now when I would no longer be blamed for ruining it. That would be a hoot.”

No other details about Lindelof’s potential “Star Wars” film are known.

Multiple other “Star Wars” film projects have been delayed or canceled in the past few years, including a planned trilogy from David Benioff and D.B. Weiss of “Game of Thrones” and another trilogy by Rian Johnson. Even if Lindelof is attached to something right now, it’s possible it may never come to fruition.
