Disney CFO Christine McCarthy Says Character Meet and Greets Will Be Returning to Disney Parks ‘Soon’

At Morgan Stanley’s 2022 Technology Media & Telecom Conference, Disney CFO, Christine McCarthy, was quoted saying that character meet and greets will be returning to Disney Parks “soon.”

Since the parks have reopened during the COVID-19 pandemic, characters have been required to stay six feet away from guests, usually behind some sort of barrier or rope. The meet and greets have been renamed to “character sightings.”

You may remember McCarthy was known for recently saying that reducing food portion sizes for guests would also help increase profits for the Disney Parks.

  1. What does she mean by “soon”, that could mean anything from a minute to years from now, something more specific other than soon would be sufficient, the cavalcades, and distanced meet and greets have been going on for a while, it’s time for things to go.back to normal as soon as possible

  2. Well since the character meet and greets are back to normal in Paris and things are calming down she may be right. But how soon will only be told with time so let’s give them time till they say it was safe.

  3. It will just cost an extra $10 per guest through the “wechargeforeverythingnow”app except for Anna and Elsa that’s $20 per guest

  4. Dear Chief Financial (aka Bean) Counter and your boss Chief Executive/Killjoy Officer Mr. Chapek: When will guests be able to finally ride a friggin’ tram to the main gates from the parking lots at HS, AK, and Epcot!? Congrats, you’ve officially killed the magic during what should have been WDW’s most magical year.

  5. I am dying and looking forward to hugging Doc McStuffins and Vampirina again.

I’ll try to be patient, but it’s not easy!
