After denouncing the “Don’t Say Gay” bill that recently passed the Florida senate, Disney CEO Bob Chapek said Disney will reconsider political donations moving forward.

The Walt Disney Company donated to all sponsors of the controversial bill and failed to denounce it multiple times after being criticized. Chapek said he and LGBTQ+ leaders will be meeting with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis soon to address concerns about the potential weaponization of the legislature against children and their families.

A proposal that would have required Disney to report on all lobbying efforts did not pass among shareholders.
