A new pride necklace and bracelet are now available at Disneyland Resort ahead of Pride Month in June. Disney did not label the rainbow merchandise collections as “pride” in previous years. Now, They have decided to make some changes to their packaging.
Pride Necklace – $19.99
The necklace is a black cord with a Mickey-shaped pendant.
It has a silver chain clasp.
Mickey’s face is a rainbow.
The packaging directs guests to TWDCPrideCollection.com for information about the Walt Disney Company’s support of LGBTQ+ communities.
Pride Bracelet – $24.99
The bracelet is made of several different colored cords, all attached.
The cords are black, red, purple, yellow, green, and blue.
The same rainbow Mickey pendant is on the bracelet.
There is also a white charm with “Love” made of rainbows and a Mickey head instead of an “o.”
These were in the Emporium at Disneyland Park.
The Walt Disney Company has faced recent controversy after donating to all the sponsors of Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill. They initially made no direct statements against the bill, but CEO Bob Chapek eventually denounced it. The company paused political donations and has stated support for the LGBTQIA+ community.
The disagreement between The Walt Disney Company and the Florida Republican Party escalated further today when Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill to dissolve the special district under which Walt Disney World has operated since its inception.
