The Walt Disney Company Gave $125,000 in Donations to Florida GOP Since Beginning of 2022

The Orlando Sentinel reports that according to new filings with the state, The Walt Disney Company gave donations of around $125,000 to the Republican Party of Florida during the start of the legislative session.

Last month, Disney CEO Bob Chapek announced that all political donations in Florida would be put on pause and further reviewed.

Disney has since come under fire from the Republican party after the CEO and Company denounced the Parental Rights in Education Bill, colloquially referred to as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.

The donations in question came during the legislative session in which the bill was debated and passed.

Florida Governor Ron Desantis has expressed an interest in repealing the 1967 Reedy Creek Improvement Act.

  1. As much as there is fixing right after this, still can’t believe disney would give money to evil Republicans

  2. It would be FANTASMIC if Bob Chapek and the Disney organization would stay focused on the business and providing the expected products and services to the customers and stay out of politics.

As a stock holder and enthusiastic, consistent customer of Disney that seems to make sense. As a member of the general public, keeping large corporations and other deep pocket institutions out of government and politics seems appropriate.

    Just a thought.
