Updates Coming to Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen, Paseo & Centrico Replacing Catal & Uva Bar at Downtown Disney District

Disneyland Resort has released more details about changes coming to restaurants at Downtown Disney District.

Downtown Disney District Din Tai Fung food

As announced yesterday, world-renowned restaurant Din Tai Fung will join the district to offer guests their soup dumplings hand crafted right on site. This family-run restaurant will bring flavorful Chinese cuisine to Downtown Disney, where guests can enjoy dishes served family-style in a creative space near the new lawn pavilion.

Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytan will bring his inclusive vision of Mexican cuisine to Paseo and Centrico in the locations currently occupied by Catal and Uva Bar, brought to life by Patina Restaurant Group. The restaurant and central courtyard bar and dining area will offer guests a multi-sensory journey to the heart of Chef Gaytan’s homeland.

Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen will also be receiving both an exterior and a menu update that will incorporate “vibrant California energy” while staying true to the heart of New Orleans.

  1. Why dispose of the Jazz Kitchen’s unique look, only to make it seem like an upscale Dunkin? I swear Disney execs do not understand what draws people to Disney in the first place. If it looks like any other shopping district, it might as well be.

    • I am so sad to see the New Orleans themed environment stripped from Ralph’s Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen! My family used to drive in to Orange County to celebrate special occasions at this restaurant because of its unique atmosphere, but these artist concept renderings make it look like every other SoCal dining location. What a strange choice for a THEME park. :(

  2. This is Sad and Pure Stupidity!! I’m from Louisiana and the Jazz kitchen looked like a classic upscale restaurant found in Louisiana, why change that to some bland ugly modern commen looking restaurant with no theme… Disney please don’t Ruin California parks let something remain Magical!!! Let something remain original.

  3. What?! Why are they making Brennans Jazz Kitchen look Californian? It’s a NEW ORLEANS restaurant, with southern food. The food, the ambiance and the cocktsils are unique. Who the H is in charge at TDA? They need to go back to the Holiday Inn in Fresno where they came from. Downtown Disney was becoming the place to go for dinner and music, movies, shopping pre covid. It will never regain that momentum with this mgmt team in charge. Wow

  4. That redesign looks absolutely god damn awful. Might as well change the whole entire restaurant. Why is Disney so hellbent on making Disneyland a shittier park?

  5. why in God’s name are they getting rid of the New Orleans theme? who in the hell is in charge down there?! and its losing its Louisiana food and going Chinese? huh?!?!? pink and orange? oh my goodness. looks like a cheap strip mall sushi joint! I swear, maybe I’m just old school but this is awful! now Uva bar I’m fine with, worst overpriced drinks this side of the Mississippi.
