Disney+ Reaches Over 137 Million Subscribers, Exceeding Expectations for Q2 2022

Disney+ net 7.9 million new subscribers in Q2 2022, exceeding analysts’ predictions. After a slow Q4 in 2021 and a poor showing from direct competitor Netflix in Q1 2022, nerves were soothed a little by the 11.8 million new subscribers last quarter (61% more than analysts predicted). As we learned from the Q2 earnings report this afternoon, things have continued to grow.

In Q2 2022, Disney+ gained more than 3.5 million more new subscribers over the common prediction of 4.5 million.

During Q2, “Turning Red,” “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder,” “West Side Story,” and more premiered, while views of “Encanto” continued to stack up.

Q3 will see the results of Marvel’s “Moon Knight” (beyond the first episode, which debuted in March), the highly anticipated Star Wars series “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” and more.
