How to Link and Set Up the New MagicBand+ in the Disneyland App

As MagicBand+ begins to roll out across the Disneyland Resort, band linking is now available on the Disneyland app.

Linking can be found in the profile section of the account, noted with the three horizontal bars on the far right of the menu bar.

Accessing that will take you to a screen where you can link your MagicBand+ or learn more about the product.

As MagicBand+ utilizes Bluetooth, you can scan the band with your device. This section also notes that only MagicBand+ can be linked, and that other MagicBand types cannot currently be used at the resort.

Holding the MagicBand+ close should allow linking to your account.

Beginning today, any MagicBand+ purchased at Walt Disney World or on shopDisney can be used at the Disneyland Resort.

If you’re part of a group, you can assign a MagicBand+ to any member of your party.

You may also be prompted to enable Bluetooth for the Play Disney Parks app, which will enable you to play Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters.

Once it links successfully, a screen with fireworks will appear, along with the option to find experiences related to the band, or link another MagicBand+.

For those wanting more information about MagicBand+, there are videos and descriptions of what it has to offer.

The four videos promoting MagicBand+ are the same as those on the corresponding My Disney Experience app for Walt Disney World.

Once linked, you can change settings including brightness, vibration, and the light up theme.

During nighttime spectaculars like Fantasmic! at Disneyland and World of Color at Disney California Adventure, MagicBand+ lights up and vibrates in sync with the show. It may also trigger special effects around Avengers Campus.

A description of Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters gives a basic outline of the game.

There’s also a list of shops around the resort that sell the band, so it’s easy to find them.

MagicBand+ is available to Magic Key holders, Cast Members, and Disney Vacation Club members beginning today, while all other guests can access it beginning October 26.
