Gibson Girl is selling the classic Peppermint Holiday Sundae once again, but this year, new Cinnamon Brown Sugar Ice Cream is also available. You can get the new flavor in an Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich with oatmeal raisin cookies, too.

A good ice cream sandwich comes down to a good cookie. Even a fun ice cream is less enjoyable with a mundane cookie. Luckily, these cookies are fantastic and the new Cinnamon Brown Sugar ice cream is as well, making for a delicious combo.

The ice cream is pleasantly cinnamon flavored with a soft, round sweetness from the brown sugar. And the oatmeal raisin cookies are moist and soft, though still sturdy enough to stand up as the structural framework of the sandwich.

Additionally, the sandwiches are refrozen after they were assembled, giving some further structure and sturdiness to the sandwich. Overall, we very much enjoyed this ice cream cookie sandwich, and, if it gets warm enough for ice cream, we would happily revisit this.

Peppermint Holiday Sundae – $8.49

Another classic flavor. It’s not anything particularly fancy, it’s not trying to be something it’s not. It lets the delicious peppermint ice cream take center stage and be the star of the show, and it’s well deserved.

This is just a plain and simple delicious scoop of ice cream that is all dressed up in its Sundae best (get it?). The cookies are basically just a separate treat, they don’t really mix in. The candy canes on top give a nice crunch to the otherwise soft and creamy ice cream, but the flavors are the same so they don’t bring any other real notes beyond texture.

The waffle bowl has mini marshmallows and is covered in snowflake sprinkles But they don’t really impart any flavor other than a waffle bowl with white chocolate. It doesn’t need anything else, it’s good as is. This is a simple but well done treat that is sure to satisfy.

The holiday season at Disneyland runs from November 11 through January 8.
