Magic Kingdom
- As the Walter E. Disney train pulled past the Fantasyland station, we heard new audio related to TRON Lightcycle / Run.
- A relatively inoffensive line of dialogue from Goofy has been changed in “Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration” during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Today, at Tower Hotel Gifts (the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror gift shop), we saw that a new carpet, featuring The Hollywood Tower Hotel logo, has been installed.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- Disney has finally confirmed that the lobby of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be refurbished next year amidst the resort’s 30th anniversary.
New Merchandise
- More new “Avatar: The Way of Water” merchandise is available in Pandora – The World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, including plush ilu and skimwings.
Other Walt Disney World News
- The lawsuit against Walt Disney World filed by two Annual Passholders over the Park Pass reservation system could be dismissed because the plaintiffs wish to remain anonymous.
- Walt Disney World and the surrounding areas were under a tornado watch until 4:00 p.m.
- Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will be closed tomorrow, December 16, and Saturday, December 17, due to low temperatures.
- The courses of Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf at Walt Disney World will close for refurbishment in January 2023.
- Several of the floats in the “Electrical Water Pageant” at Walt Disney World are currently out of commission, leaving nearly half of the show missing at present.
- More blue road signs have been installed on Walt Disney World Resort property.
Disneyland Resort
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic will be closed starting January 23 for a standard refurbishment.
- The Disney 100 Years of Wonder merchandise line has finally arrived on the west coast!
Disneyland Paris
- The King Ludwig’s Castle restaurant in Disney Village at Disneyland Paris will permanently close on January 8, 2023, to be completely rethemed.
Entertainment and Media
- More details have been announced about Disney Lorcana, a new trading card game by Ravensburger, that will launch in fall 2023.
