Modifications Now Available for Genie+ Lightning Lane Selections in Disneyland App

With the latest update of the Disneyland App, guests can now modify their Genie+ Lightning Lane selections.

Guests will need to update their app to version 7.19 to access modifications.

After the update, users can navigate to their Lightning Lane selections in the app, tap the three dots symbol, and then click “Modify Plan.” From there, they can select a new attraction or return time and hit “Change To This Time” to complete the change.

The update should be available on the My Disney Experience app for Walt Disney World Resort soon.

Are you excited about this Genie+ update? Let us know in the comments.

  1. If this works as advertised it will be a welcome update. The first time I used Genie + it was 2:30pm and I had a reservation for Indy at 5:00pm. I was on the app when Big Thunder suddenly had a reservation at 3:00pm open up. Since that BTMR time was more convenient for my day I canceled my Indy reservation thinking, “Once my Indy reservation is canceled I can book BTMR immediately.” Nope – after I canceled Indy the Genie + told me that I wasn’t eligible to book a new reservation since it had been less than 2 hours since I booked Indy (even though I no longer had that Indy reservation). So now I was without my Indy reservation and still had to wait until my eligible time to reserve came around. Lesson learned. If we can now “modify” our reservation that will hopefully prevent others from making the same mistake that I did.

  2. Genie + is awful. Its just MORE STRESS on your vacation. Park reservations is MORE STRESS. No dining plan, MORE STRESS. Having to pay 20.00 for drinking cups that USE to be FREE at your hotel, MORE STRESS. This is the kicker, having to wake up EVERY morning before 7am to make a reservation for a ride that EVERYONE in the family would like to ride and having your finger on the phone so you can click on at EXACTLY 7am just to find out that RIDE already is ALL BOOKED!!! Guess what, MORE STRESS!!
Geeze! Greed is a wicked thing.
Walt Disney’s words when he opened Disney Land was, “To all who come to this happy place welcome.”
I just want to feel WELCOMED like it use to be. When we use to enter our hotel we were greeted with “Welcome home!” That doesn’t even happen anymore. Heading for Universal in 3 weeks!
