If you’re looking for flavors you haven’t tried before while visiting the 2023 Lunar New Year Festival, head over to the Pacific Wharf Cappuccino Cart for Dalgona Coffee bundt cake! Dalgona, roughly translated to “it’s sweet” is a popular Korean flavor, that tastes similar to caramel but has a bit of a smoky aftertaste.

Coffee Bundt cake filled with sweet milk and topped with dalgona foam
This might be the best specialty coffee cake they’ve had at the cappuccino cart so far. The daigona foam on top is strongly coffee flavored but without any bitterness.
It’s delicately sweet, but so strong in flavor that it’s almost entirely overpowering the sugar character.
The coffee bundt cake is the standard bundt cake this location uses for its specialty offerings. We usually we get a stronger coffee flavor from it, but in this dish, it’s more subdued by comparison to the daigona foam.
The sweetened condensed milk in the middle is nice and sweet, providing a creamy aspect to sweeten up the whole dish and make it a more exciting treat. Overall, this is very well balanced, making it thoroughly enjoyable.
*NEW* Green Tea Horchata – $6.50
This was surprisingly better than we thought it was going to be. The flavored horchata drinks here at the cappuccino cart are often underwhelming, with the flavored addition cheapening the horchata character and the horchata pulling interest away from the flavoring. This one commits to the green tea aspect with only a slight hint of cinnamon and rice milk to back it up.
It’s not as sweet as we would expect, but still sweet enough to be enjoyable. We liked this one a lot more than we were expecting, and we could see ourselves returning for it again soon.
Between green tea horchata and dalgona, the Cappuccino Cart is bringing strong, bold flavors to the 2023 Lunar New Year Festival, and honestly, we can’t complain about that!
The Lunar New Year festival is running from January 20 through February 15, 2023.
