Though the decorative Disney100 medallions at Disneyland Resort do not yet interact with MagicBand+, it looks like the interactive effects are being tested. We saw red lights on this medallion in Downtown Disney District last night.

The small lights are around the edge of the medallion, within the magical sparkles of the three fairies. Disneyland promised MagicBand+ would be able to interact with some Disney100 decorations.

Speakers were also added to the medallion in Disney California Adventure, presumably also in keeping with Disney’s promise for MagicBand+ interactions. In addition to the medallions, guests may also soon be able to use their MagicBand+ to interact with the platinum Mickey and Minnie statues in Disneyland.

At Walt Disney World, guests can interact with the golden Fab 50 statues by waving at them, triggering different sound effects. With MagicBand+ and the My Disney Experience app, Walt Disney World guests can play the Disney Fab 50 Quest game.

The Disney 100 Years of Wonder celebration began on January 27, 2023, with the debut of “Wondrous Journeys” at Disneyland and “World of Color – ONE” at Disney California Adventure. Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway also opened on January 27.
