NEW Sneak Peek of Live-Action ‘The Little Mermaid’ Features First Look at Melissa McCarthy as Ursula

A new sneak peek of the live-action adaptation of “The Little Mermaid” has been released by Disney. Watch it below.

The first teaser trailer was released back in September. “The Little Mermaid” stars Halle Bailey as Princess Ariel. The cast also includes Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, and Javier Bardem as King Triton. Noma Dumezweni will portray Queen Selina, a new character. Daveed Diggs will voice Sebastian, Jacob Tremblay will voice Flounder, and Awkwafina will voice Scuttle who has been adapted to be a female diving bird instead of a male seagull.

Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, and Disneyland Paris have all been seeking Halle Bailey look-alikes to portray Ariel in the parks, likely for temporary appearances to coincide with the film’s release.

“The Little Mermaid” live-action will swim into theaters on May 26, 2023.
