Celebrate spring with the return of the Eggstravaganza — a series of special, character-inspired egg hunts taking place across Disneyland Resort from March 13 through April 9, 2023. While the hunt is also on at Disney California Adventure and the Downtown Disney District, we’re first going to try to find all of the eggs hidden throughout Disneyland Park.
Guests can pick up their game boards and stickers for $9.99 and have fun searching high and low for Disney characters in Easter egg form. As each “egg” character is spotted, the sticker of that character can be placed in the corresponding location on the game board. Whether or not you decide to complete the Eggstravaganza, each game board can be returned for one of six collectible character keepsake eggs.
This year’s lineup of character eggs features Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Chip ‘n Dale, Donald and Daisy Duck, Tinker Bell, Mr. Toad, Goofy, Pluto, Thumper, and the White Rabbit. Let’s get our egg hunt on!
Mickey Mouse – Main Street Cinema
Oh, boy! We spotted our first egg above the marquee of the Main Street Cinema. Mickey is dressed to the nines in a black sparkly tuxedo jacket and yellow bowtie. While you’re here, be sure to stop in to visit Tilly, the mannequin who mans the box office of Main Street Cinema. Tilly has been given her own Disney 100 Years of Wonder outfit, nametag, and accessories.
Minnie Mouse – Emporium
Nestled among the dolls of other popular Disney classics, Minnie Mouse is hidden in plain sight above the shelves of the Emporium. Would you have spotted this Eggstravaganza egg on your own?
Donald Duck – Disneyana
Near the Disneyland Railroad, this Donald Duck egg has been placed among one-of-a-kind works of art that can be found inside Disneyana. Like Minnie, Donald will have you stretching your neck toward the ceiling, but a quick glance at the woodwork above and this egg will be easy to spot.
The White Rabbit – The Royal Theatre
Last year, the White Rabbit from “Alice in Wonderland” was placed above the Mad Hatter storefront signage, but Disneyland couldn’t make it that easy for the 2023 Eggstravaganza. Beloved Disney stories are reenacted inside, but the White Rabbit is sure to be late as he’s found himself on top of the Royal Theatre’s colorfully bunted facade. That sure looks like an egg that’s afraid of height-induced scrambling.
Pluto – Stage Door Café
Pluto has been spotted on the balcony of the Stage Door Café. His golden yellow fur and green collar help to spot Mickey’s beloved dog on top of Disneyland’s quick-service saloon.
Thumper – Adventureland Bazaar
Everyone’s favorite young rabbit Thumper was spotted above the arched entrance of the Adventureland Bazaar. While we first met Thumper in the 1942 Disney classic, “Bambi,” he melts hearts all the same in Eggstravaganza form.
Goofy – Mlle. Antoinette’s Parfumerie
“Awh, gawrsh!” This Goofy “egg” was found hanging out on a balcony in New Orleans Square. We spotted Goofy just above Mlle. Antoinette’s Parfumerie.
Dale – Briar Patch
Chip rests on top of a well near the Briar Patch. Chip fits right in at his 2023 Eggstravaganza hiding spot in Critter Country.
Daisy – Big Thunder Trail
Daisy could be a tricky egg to find. After some searching, we found her above Big Thunder Trail, a walk-through area found behind Big Thunder Mountain.
Tinkerbell – Edelweiss Snacks
Just across from Matterhorn Bobsleds, Tinkerbell can be spotted on the balcony of Edelweiss Snacks. We don’t know about you, but this might be a good time in our egg hunt to stop in for a quick bite.
Mr. Toad – “it’s a small world” Toy Shop
Mr. Toad, or at least this Mr. Toad egg, has stepped out from his lavish English manor house opting for a location of the Mary Blair-variety. The Mr. Toad “egg” is just above the “it’s a small world” Toy Shop.
Dale – Pooh Corner
You’ll have to go inside to find Chip’s chipmunk counterpart, Dale. This Rescue Ranger can be found among snacks and gifts inside Pooh’s Corner.
And, just like that, our egg hunt has been completed! It’s time to redeem our completed game board at a redemption station to pick out a collectible character egg keepsake of our own!
Now it’s time for the hardest part of the challenge. Which 2023 Eggstravaganza prized character egg would you choose? Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip N’ Dale are all available choices. Guests can also purchase six gameboards to earn the whole collection of 2023 Eggstravaganza Character Keepsake Eggs.
Special prize eggs are available this year, as well! For $14.99, guests can choose to pick up young Simba, Timon, or Pumbaa as part of the 2023 Eggstravaganza happening now across the Disneyland Resort.
