All aboard! A new Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway remote control trackless ride vehicle toy is coming to Disneyland.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway Remote Control Trackless Train

The toy train will have three separate cars — the engine and two ride vehicles. The remote control is used to drive the engine and the two cars follow behind through trackless technology similar to the attraction itself.

Mickey and Minnie are seated in one car, while Donald, Daisy, and Chuuby are in the other.

Chuuby is a fan-favorite character, and is frequently featured in Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway merchandise. He is the friendly orange cartoon bird residing in Runamuck Park. He lives in the train barn adjacent to the Runamuck Railroad station and enjoys entertaining guests with his charming personality.

According to the ride’s lore: “Joyfully whistling up in the train barn or tunnel entrance, Chuuby is a merry resident of Runamuck Park and the essence of his happy surroundings. This multi-talented song-and-dance bird has aspirations of one day performing on the big stage!”

Disney imagineer Kevin Rafferty created the original character Chuuby for the Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway attraction. According to The OC Register, originally intended to be named “Chubby,” a typo during a development meeting led to the adoption of the name “Chuuby,” which was deemed more endearing. Additionally, the three baby birds hatched from eggs in the train barn loop are referred to as the “Chuubettes.”

No price or other information has been released for the toy at this time, though it is expected to be a Disneyland exclusive (at least for now).

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opened at Disneyland on January 27.
