While a lot of the festival food we eat is good, it’s not necessarily great. But, once in a great while a fantastic dish is presented to us, like the Grilled Top Sirloin from Garlic Kissed. This dish first appeared at the Food & Wine Festival last year, and we’re ecstatic to see it has returned for the 2023 festival!

Grilled Top Sirloin – $9.00
with Roasted Garlic-Gruyère Smashed Potatoes and Black Garlic Chimichurri
The intense flavors complement each other well. The steak is tender and delicious, while the mashed potatoes are creamy and flavorful.
The garlic in the chimichurri provides a richness that becomes the heart and soul of this dish.
It looked oily, but the delicious potatoes absorbed the oil. So, it balances out very well.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this and held it among one of the best dishes available at the festival.
Carbonara Garlic Mac & Cheese Featuring Nueske’s® Peppered Bacon – $8.50
We loved this twist on the classic Mac & Cheese so much so that we are willing to label it one of our favorite dishes at the festival!
The savory flavor didn’t overpower. If the pungent booth name is putting you off, then have no fear – the garlic in this sauce provided a flavorful aftertaste. The cheese grated on top of the pasta was fine but unnecessary.
The breadcrumbs complemented the texture along with the salty, smoky crispness of the bacon. We’d love to have this again.
*NEW* Raspberry Limoncello-Ade – $16.00
Limoncello, Grapefruit Liqueur, House-made Mint Syrup, Raspberry Syrup and Lemon Juice, garnished with a White Orchid
The garnishes for both drinks weren’t available as of the writing of this review. This is cool and refreshing with perfectly balanced flavors. Think of this as an alcoholic raspberry lemonade with high quality liquor. It’s a huge winner, even though it loses some of its appeal based on the weather. With the day already being cold and windy, it didn’t land with us quite the same as it would on a warm, sunny day.
*NEW* Guava-Lychee Mule – $17.00
Vodka, Guava Nectar, Ginger and Lychee Syrups, Lemon Juice, topped with Guava and Grapefruit Hard Cider, garnished with a Lemon Wheel
The guava lychee mule does not taste like your typical mule. We didn’t get a lot of the ginger beer flavor at all, but the guava and the lychee flavors are prominent. They make for a very flavorful fruity combination. if you don’t typically like mules, this may be a good one for you to try because there’s almost no ginger kick to it at all. We really liked it overall, though if you’re expecting more of a traditional mule, you’ll be disappointed.
The 2023 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival will be running from March 3 to April 25, 2023.
