Chile Relleno Empanada – $8.50
with Arbol Pepper Salsa and Oaxaca & Cotija Cheeses
This is the spicier of the options here and really delivers on the heat promised by all of the peppered signs around the booth. The creamy red pepper sauce on top is responsible for much of the spice, with the inside being pepper-flavored, not extremely hot. For any fans of the classic Mexican dish, this really is a unique take on the chile relleno, and something we weren’t expecting to like so much!

Spicy Shrimp with California Chile and Cilantro Rice
The fishy odor of the shrimp is obliterated by the delicious but very spicy sauce. We would definitely get this again but are somewhat suspicious of the quality of the shrimp. And the sauce is not for the faint of heart.
Cantarito-Style Paloma – $15.00
Reposado Tequila, Habanero-infused Pineapple Juice, Lime Juice, Rock Melon Syrup and Fresca®, garnished with a Pineapple Wheel and Chile-Lime Seasoning
This drink was sweet, spicy, and very fruity. It’s light and refreshing compared to other beverages available at the festival, but people may not like how spicy it is. This is one of the less syrupy options at the festival.
The 2023 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival will be running from March 3 to April 25, 2023.
