Hatbox Ghost – $12.99

The Hatbox Ghost also has a fan for sale. The ribs of this fan are black.

The Hatbox Ghost is set to return to the Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World later this year. Along with the fan, there is a small hatbox with the ghost’s head inside connected to the handle.

Glow-in-the-Dark “Time to Party” Sweatshirt – $59.99

The neon colors of this sweatshirt will pop in any light, but this pullover is also glow-in-the-dark. In purple lettering under the neckline you can see the Haunted Mansion primary logo.

Pickwick, the ghost who hangs from a chandelier in the ballroom, is joined by the King and a shy dinner guest on this glow-in-the-dark pullover sweatshirt.

The text on this shirt is the only portion that will glow in the dark.

Limited Edition Bride Doll – $149.99

Constance Hatchaway, better known as The Black Widow Bride, is one of the most infamous residents of The Haunted Mansion. This limited-edition Bride doll captures the immortal beauty in exquisite detail, from her ghostly features to the sparkling jewels she wears and the skulls embroidered on her shimmering veil. Legend has it that Constance outlived five husbands and walks the mansion’s dark halls, with a candle in one hand and a hatchet in the other, looking (hunting?) for number six. Truth is she’ll live on as a v-eerie special part of your collection.

The box comes wrapped in black ribbon.

Madame Leota Crystal Ball – $125

Summon your own spirits with this new lamp inspired by the Haunted Mansion’s own Madame Leota.

It features Madame Leota’s ghostly face floating in her crystal ball atop a silver pedestal.

Madame Leota Book Box – $44.99

This box, designed to look like an old, leatherbound book, features the headstone of Madame Leota. It reads “Dear Sweet Leota, beloved by all, in regions beyond now, but having a ball.”

The Haunted Mansion logo is on the “spine” of the book/box.

Leota’s face is raised on her headstone, much like the one in the queue at Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World. Famously, that version’s eyes will open and blink at guests.

Haunted Mansion Mystery Pin Set – $19.99

This mystery pin set we found at 20th Century Music Co. contains 2 randomly selected pins in each box.

The options include pins of the Bride, the Caretaker, Hitchhiking Ghosts, and 5 marble busts from the attraction.

The Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Resort

This classic Disney attraction can now be found at several Disney Parks around the world. The first iteration opened in 1969 at Disneyland as part of the New Orleans Square expansion. Two years later, it was an opening day attraction in Liberty Square at Magic Kingdom, and in 1983, it was an opening day attraction at Tokyo Disneyland, too.

The Disneyland Paris version of Haunted Mansion is named Phantom Manor, while at Hong Kong Disneyland, Mystic Manor is a completely different attraction that draws some inspiration from the original whilst avoiding references to the afterlife out of respect toward traditional Chinese cultural precedent.

The Hatbox Ghost inside The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Resort

Haunted Mansion is full of famous ghostly characters and spirits like Madame Leota, the Bride, the subjects of the stretching room portraits, and the Hatbox Ghost.

The Hatbox Ghost was in the original Disneyland Haunted Mansion on opening day. Technology had not quite caught up to the ghost’s vanishing and appearing head, however, so the effect only lasted a few weeks before disappearing for nearly 50 years.

This effect returned to the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland in 2015. He appears at the end of the attic scene, after the Bride “greets” guests. The Hatbox Ghost will soon be installed in the Magic Kingdom version of the Haunted Mansion, too.

‘Haunted Mansion’ Movie

Disney's "Haunted Mansion" Movie

The upcoming “Haunted Mansion” film follows a doctor (Rosario Dawson) and her 9-year-old son (Chase Dillon) moving into a haunted abode in New Orleans. Dawson’s character ends up calling in a priest (Owen Wilson) to exorcise the manor. They also get help from a widowed scientist-turned-failed-paranormal expert (LaKeith Stanfield), a French Quarter psychic (Tiffany Haddish), and a historian (Danny DeVito).

Jamie Lee Curtis portrays Madame Leota, and Jared Leto serves as the Hatbox Ghost. Curtis called the film “modern, fresh, old-fashioned, and scary, but not scary like a monster movie. It’s scary, like a Disney ride, and funny. If you go on that ride, there’s a lot of humor as well as the scary, ghost-y stuff.”

Curtis, Wilson, and Stanfield recently worked the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland to promote the film.

Disney's "Haunted Mansion" Movie

During the “Studio Showcase Day 1: Celebrate the Magic of Disney and Pixar” panel at the D23 Expo 2022 in Anaheim, Disney debuted the “Haunted Mansion” trailer. Director Justin Simien took to the stage to speak about the project and detail some of the cameos audiences can expect from Winona Ryder, Dan Levy, Hasan Minhaj, and more.

Walt Disney Studios will present a behind-the-scenes look at “Haunted Mansion” during Midsummer Scream — Halloween & Horror Convention in Long Beach, California, at the end of July.

The film will be in theaters on July 28, 2023. You can watch the trailer below:
