Disney Lorcana Gift Sets Sell Out Again at World of Disney in Disney Springs

After being restocked a few days ago, Disney Lorcana gift sets are once again sold out at World of Disney in Disney Springs. We reported on the few remaining gift sets left at World of Disney on the morning of September 16. By the late afternoon, the gift sets were gone.

During the few days the gift sets were available this week, one was displayed in this case near the checkout area. Now, an Infinity Gauntlet is in the case.

Guests needed to ask a Cast Member for a gift set when checking out. There was a limit of 2 per guest. There were stacks of Lorcana gift sets (but no other Lorcana product) behind the counters.

A Cast Member confirmed for us that the gift sets are sold out and they do not know when they will be restocked.

A Lorcana gift set includes 4 booster packs of 12 cards each, two normal-sized and two oversized holofoil Hades and Mulan cards, and cardboard punch-out tokens. That brings the set to a total of 60 cards, which is how many a player theoretically needs in their deck, although the two oversized cards aren’t ideal for play.

Disney Lorcana was released at Disney Springs on August 28 after first arriving at local retailers. Starter decks sold out within an hour and gift sets soon after. The game was then released widely on September 1. Gift sets returned to World of Disney this week and were in stock for a few days.

Ravensburger promised Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter would be reprinted next year given the demand overrunning supply. Individual cards have sold for over $1,000 and there have also been reports of price gouging at small specialty stores.

Disney Lorcana is a new Disney-focused trading card game created by Ravensburger. The company describes the game as an experience in which players can “wield magic inks and the power of Lorcana to assemble [their] team of Disney characters” on the official Disney Lorcana website, warning that “some characters will be familiar friends” while “others will be fantastically reimagined.”

All cards released thus far have belonged to “The First Chapter” of the game. Cards from this set will be reprinted early next year in an effort to meet demand. The second chapter, titled ‘Rise of the Floodborn,” was formally revealed earlier this month and will be released to local retailers on November 17 and widely on December 1. Special Disney100 Edition Disney Lorcana cards signed by Disney animators are also on their way.
