REVIEW: Life Day Cheese Bread Branch Celebrates the Wookiee Holiday at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland

One of the Life Day-inspired treats available this holiday season at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland is the Cheese Branch. Guests can find this snack at Kat Saka’s Kettle in Black Spire Outpost through January 9, 2024.

Life Day, which originates with the infamous “Star Wars Holiday Special,” is celebrated on November 17 each year. It’s technically a Wookiee holiday but has spread across the galaxy to be celebrated by various species and cultures. Batuu gets in on the celebrations each winter with things like food and Magic Shots.

Cheese Bread Branch – $7.49

Croissant dough mixed with cream cheese, parmesan, and cheddar sprinkled with crushed red pepper

As far as we can tell, this is supposed to be a reference to the Tree of Life on Kashyyyk, which represents the planet’s first spark of life. Wookiees usually travel to the Tree of Life on Life Day for celebrations and decorate it with glowing orbs.

It’s hard to mess up a simple cheese and bread combo — and thankfully, Disney didn’t. This is amazing.

It’s different from the Cheesy Blue Orbs that are also available for Life Day because it has a flaky croissant texture, which we love.

It’s buttery on the outside and cheesier on the inside. It’s also pretty big so would be easy to share.
